Hello and welcome to the new home of the Old Worksopians. We realise that this website is long overdue, so please do get stuck in! This site will continue to develop over the coming months and years; we want you to help us make it better. Please do let us know how we can make this better suit your needs.
We want this website to help support former pupils of Worksop College. We think there are around 10,000 Old Worksopians out there and we are in contact with only a small proportion. We are hoping that this website will help bridge that gap.
The primary aim of this site is provide access to the Worksopian and Cuthbertian magazines which have now been (almost fully) digitised. The Cuthbertian dates back to September 1895 and was replaced by the Worksopian in around 1920. As such there is a vast amount of information out there, a lot of which many Old Worksopians will find of interest. The first Cuthbertian magazines were published monthly, they then moved to termly in a bid to save paper and ink in World War One. Later they were published termly until the late 1970s when an annual publication was produced instead. The Old Worksopian newsletter also formed a part of the College magazine until the mid 1990s, when in a bid to reduce the overall size of the magazine led to a separate publication.
This site will continue to develop over the coming months, so if you have anything you’d like to contribute (pictures, stories or anything Worksop College-related) or would simply like to get in touch please use the contact us link in the menu above.
We hope you enjoy looking round the site.
